Mr Winter's Daydream

With the winter snow blowing and blustering outside I thought it fitting to insert a little poem to warm our heart and remind us of short summer that waits us... if only in our dreams...

Mr Winter's Daydream  - kw 2012

His heart was as cold as a winter snow
His eyes were icy and held no glow
He barely spoke and had a nasty glare
His mind was dull like no one was there

Her heart was as hot as the summer sun
Her eyes were bright and full of fun
She spoke so freely and had a dream like gaze
Her mind was as brilliant and free from haze

When they met the leaves were starting to bloom
The snow gently melted as sun overtook gloom
As her warm hand reached for his icy hook
His glare started to weaken and take on a new look

He gently warmed in her sunny place
His eyes slowly glistened, he took on a new face
She wooed him with warm kisses and gentle caress
She brought a smile to his face and removed his distress

But soon the warm fire of her sun-kissed skin
Started to wain and it grew cold again
And he couldn’t continue with this childlike play
He knew that the warmth would soon fade away

And as the leaves started to fall from the trees
He could feel the snow come with the wintery breeze
She faded away just a memory to recall
He wondered if she had been there at all.
